-Group 2 elements are called Alkali Earth Metals

-The elements in this group are:

-Beryllium(Be)

-Calcium(Ca)

-Strontium(Sr)

-Barium(Ba)

-Radium(Ra)

-Less metallic in character than Group 1 elements.

-All the elements in Group 2 have two electrons in there Valence shells, giving them an Oxidation state of 2.

-Beryllium does not react to water.
